About Us
Manorview Foundation is a registered Scottish charity (SC051772) established in 2023.
Our aim is simple – we exist to make life better for people who are living in poverty. Through warm spaces, tasty meals and happy experiences we bring comfort and joy to the people who are struggling to make ends meet every day.
Our story so far…
Back in October 2025, we reflected on our beginnings, our biggest achievements so far, and where we want to go next. Watch our short video to understand how we started, why we exist and how we make life better for people in poverty.
Please note that the numbers quoted were accurate at time of filming, and we’re delighted to have reached even more people in need since then.
100% of funds we raise go directly to helping people in Scotland.
We’re a small charity who keep costs and overheads to a minimum, ensuring any money we raise goes directly to helping the people who need it. Our team salaries are paid for by Manorview Hotels and the National Lottery Fund. This means you can be assured that every penny you fundraise and donate is making a meaningful difference to people in Scotland.
Our beginnings…
Our organisation was originally founded by Scottish hospitality group Manorview. Having fundraised hundreds of thousands of pounds for various worthy charities, the leadership team there wanted to focus in on one cause, with a view to making a bigger impact.
Every day Manorview welcome guests to their hotels and restaurants. Hospitality is a fantastic industry that brings joy to many. But it’s also not accessible to everyone. Some people can’t afford to put food on the table, let alone enjoy a special event or meal out. And the team there decided something had to be done about that. The idea for Manorview Foundation was then born.
Manorview Foundation is now a separate entity to Manorview Hotels and has since become a registered charity, but we’ve kept the name to honour our story. We’re proud that the hotel group support us with expertise, property, facilities, volunteering and donations, so that the fundraising we do can be focused on supporting the people we help.
Where our community sessions started…
In 2023, we began delivering community sessions in Coatbridge, North Lanarkshire. This allowed us to reach local people, establish a group of regular visitors and find out what the community really wanted. Though our location in Coatbridge has changed, we still deliver weekly sessions like youth groups, parent and baby sessions and adult workshops. These are all free to visitors, and all include food and drink. Today, we support many other communities in west and central Scotland with day trips and meals out, supported by our partner Manorview Hotels who provide their various properties for use.
Susan Spence, Manorview Foundation Charity Lead
“One young man who is just 20 told me he was so grateful for his meal, because he wasn’t sure where his next would come from. In this day and age it’s so sad that people don’t know when they’ll next eat. We are committed to helping.”
