350 hogmanay meals served to people in need

Our mission is simple yet profound - to make life better for those living in poverty. Born from a business dedicated to showing people kindness and hospitality, we believe everyone deserves access to hot and tasty meals - no matter their circumstances. That’s why, on New Year’s Day, we had the privilege of putting our mission into action by providing a special meal for 350 homeless and vulnerable individuals in Glasgow.

On January 1st, we worked with Homeless Project Scotland, utilising their homeless shelter on Glassford Street in Glasgow as an outlet to serve a warm, restaurant-quality meal of steak pie and vegetables to those experiencing hardship. Chefs from Manorview Hotels prepared a traditional steak pie with vegetables, a comforting and nutritious meal. The steak pie dinners were freshly prepared on the day and delivered to the shelter, where volunteers from both Manorview Foundation and Homeless Project Scotland served them with care.

That evening, we were able to feed 350 vulnerable individuals. Among them were people sleeping on the streets, refugees, families with young children, and those who had walked miles just for a warm meal. There was even enough food left over to support the night shelter accommodation.

While providing a hot meal was our primary goal, the evening was about so much more. It was about human connection - allowing people to sit down, chat, and feel seen. Many also left with extra food, ensuring they knew where their next meal was coming from.

Susan Spence, our Foundation Lead, shared a particularly touching moment: “A family with two young children, no more than eight years old, were so excited to take more food home with them. They left with two carrier bags filled with food to last for the next few days. Even though there was a language barrier, their appreciation was clear. That experience really put things into perspective - you don’t know how lucky you are.”

These moments reinforce why our work is so important: it’s not just about food; it’s about connection, kindness, and community. It is a powerful reminder that, at the end of the day, we are all just people, and we all deserve to feel valued and cared for.

Feeding the homeless is at the grassroots of tackling poverty, and every meal served is a step toward making a real, tangible difference. In 2025, we aim to deliver over 2,000 meals to people facing hardship, working alongside Homeless Project Scotland and other organisations that provide essential aid on the streets of Glasgow - because no one should have to wonder where their next meal is coming from.

If you would like to support our mission or get involved, we’d love to hear from you.

Together, we can make a difference—one meal at a time.
