Our essential toiletry boxes are making a difference…

A few weeks ago we began packing and distributing essential toiletries boxes in the North Lanarkshire area. Every day people face hygiene poverty, because we all know that personal care and laundry products come at a price, and can quickly add up. So with our vision of making daily life a little better for people in poverty, we set out to build and deliver the boxes.

“This will go a long way in helping us to provide essential resources to families. With your support, we can keep making a positive and lasting difference as they move towards safety, stability, and a brighter future.”

Sasha, Monklands Women’s Aid

The boxes contained essential items for everyday use. From shampoo and shower gels, to dental hygiene goods, the boxes contain items the whole family can use.

Thanks to a grant we were able to fund the boxes and items, and of the 60 delivered we distributed to Coatbridge College, the Manorview Foundation community groups, Routes to Work and Monkland’s Women’s Aid. Those who received the boxes were so grateful. It’s just another way we’re trying to make a difference.

We’ll continue to distribute these, and are now looking to other grants and funding to roll this initiative out in other areas of deprivation.
